Little Dreamlight brings together sleepy sounds, bedtime stories, gentle narration, and a wind-down routine — built to help families slow down together.
Currently in private testing.
Little Dreamlight started when Matilda was using bedtime sounds on a bright video screen. Her dad wanted something softer, calmer, and made only for bedtime — a quiet place without the noise of an endless feed. So he started building a little dreamlight for her. Now it is being shaped for other families too.
From mine to yours.
Four small pieces that help bedtime feel familiar, calm, and connected.
Calming sounds and dream scenes for winding down. Favorite sounds move higher so bedtime favorites are easy to find.
Short, gentle stories made for parents and kids to read together.
Optional on-device narration using Apple system voices. Parents can preview and choose recommended bedtime voices.
A soft Sleepy Steps routine that helps bedtime feel familiar, calm, and connected.
A short greeting. A picture of tonight's calm. Four ways to wind down — Sleepy Sounds, Bedtime Stories, Dream Scenes, and Bedtime. Gentle Narration lives inside Bedtime Stories; the Bedtime tile opens the Wind Down Routine. Just bedtime.
Little Dreamlight can read stories using voices already available on the iPhone. Parents can preview recommended bedtime voices and choose the one that feels calmest. No microphone, no cloud voice service, and no parent recording in this app.
For richer voices, parents can download Premium or Enhanced voices in iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Read & Speak → Voices → English.
Save a partial routine for the night, then tap Ready for Sweet Dreams to start the selected sleepy sound. Sleepy Steps stay calm and familiar — kid-sized pieces of a bedtime that feels the same every night.
Gentle dream scenes and sleepy sounds for the start of bedtime. Favorites move higher in the grid so the ones your family loves are easy to find. Tap the sleep timer to pick a duration and the sound gently fades to quiet, settling the app into a calm rest screen.
A small library of bedtime stories made for parents and kids to read together. Open one and read it yourself, or let Gentle Narration read it aloud while you snuggle in.
Optional narration using on-device Apple system voices. Sentences gently highlight and the page scrolls to keep the current paragraph in view, so little eyes never lose their place. Turn on “Start sleepy sound after story” in Settings and, when a story ends, the reader says a soft good night and eases into your chosen sleepy sound. No microphone. No voice recording. No cloud narration.
Pick the small things tonight needs — a sound, a story, a sleepy step or two. Save Tonight when you're done, then tap Ready for Sweet Dreams and your chosen sleepy sound takes over. No loops. No autoplay tricks. Just rest.
When a narrated story finishes, the reader quiets to a crescent moon and a soft good night. A single “Tap to wake” waits below — nothing else queues, nothing else loads. Just the screen, settling into the dark.
Parents pick the bedtime voice that feels calmest, set the story text size, and check what's in this build. An optional warm-night setting lays a soft amber tint over Little Dreamlight's own screen — gentle for tired eyes, never on the rest of the phone. Everything stays on the device — no microphone, no voice recording, no cloud narration, no creepy tracking.
A few calm sounds. A short story. A little routine. A moment with mom, dad, or someone who loves you. That is the magic.
A cozy bedtime companion built for connection — designed slowly and tested carefully before release.
